Yes, I’m being mysterious about some stuff in the subject line, but before we get to that, my apologies! I was supposed to pick and post the winners of this contest on Friday, and I didn’t. I had family in town, and I was out having a good time with them.
But, my slacking will benefit two more people because as my way of saying I’m sorry, I doubled the number of contest winners! As a reminder, the prompt was to tell me which book/movie/tv show was your introduction to vampires, and every person who replied was entered into the contest. As always, winners were randomly chosen, and the first winner of a $15 Amazon egift card is:
Jennifer Strickland, who said “This is going to show my age, but it was either The Lost Boys, or Ann Rice’s Interview With a Vampire series, I’m too old to remember which came first 🙂 I’ve continued loving them through almost all the changes in mythology since then…”
And the bonus winner of a $15 Amazon egift card is:
Ruth, who said, “I was introduced to vampires by my mom with interview with a vampire. Then I found one of your books at Walmart and I got hooked. You’re books are why I’m so in love with paranormal romance now. And your books helped me survive an abusive ex-marriage, they gave me a place to escape with everything I craved and desired. I just want to say thank you for such a amazing stories❤️”
*wipes away tears* I’m not crying! I just have…something in my eyes.
Now, to the winner of any “book of their choice” from my backlist. The first winner is:
Teresa Hartz, who said, “Not sure when I started watching vampire themed movies/shows but as for reading, Anita Blake was my first vampire themed book and it has gone from there.”
And, the bonus winner of any “book of their choice” from my backlist is:
Sophie, who said, “I’ve always had this weird fascination with vampires as a kid but the gateway introduction to the genre that started an obsession was good old twilight.”
Congrats to all the winners! As usual, I will be contacting you through the email that was attached to your comment with instructions on how to claim your prize, so be sure to refresh your inbox 🙂
To everyone else, I’m sorry that you didn’t win, but I hope you had fun taking a trip down fanged memory lane with your stories on your gateway introduction to vampires. I know I enjoyed reading them.
Now, to my somewhat cryptic subject line. I’ve been repeatedly asked, “What’s next?” as far as books. This is a head’s up to tell you that you’ll get a hint of that later this week, and there might be some celebratory prizes, too. So, you know…if you swung by the blog on Thursday or Friday, that might not be a bad idea *whistles innocently*

My best friend was pregnant her husband was deployed and not due home for leave (vacation) for 2 months. She wanted to tell him in person. I had to keep her happy secret for 8 long weeks not only from her husband who I saw on FaceTime at least once a week but all our friends and family. It was well worth it. So horrible, the waiting. I later found out that I was the only one that managed to keep the secret 🤐. She leaked the news to all her family and friends. We went to the 4 month ultrasound while her husband was home. I was the only one trusted with the gender for the reveal party 😎.
