As most of you know, I’ve written several series. Each series follows the same couple over the course of multiple books. All of my series end with a happily-ever-after, so while I might put my characters through the ringer, it’ll all work out in the end.
Take my Night Huntress series. When we first meet my heroine, Cat, she’s a half-vampire who hates all vampires. Naturally, that means she tries to un-alive the vampire hero, Bones, from the moment they meet. But Bones is too powerful to be taken down, and unbeknownst to Cat, he also falls for her pretty quickly (enemies-to-lovers for her and almost insta-love for him!)
But, how does Bones entice a vampire killer to spend more time with a vampire? Offer her the chance to kill BAD vampires while he shows Cat that there’s more to the supernatural world than she realizes, of course. For instance, like how being half-dead isn’t all bad 😊

My gateway to the vampire world started when I was a kid. It was the anime movie Vampire Hunter D.
Then as an adult, it was reignited with your very own Halfway to the Grave, and Dark Lover by JR Ward.
I started out by reading the vampire diaries and then dove into interview with the vampire and other Anne Rice novels. But the night huntress has been by far my favorite series of all time I’ve re-read them several times.

Mine was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is also the reason I discovered your Night Huntress series! A lot of other readers have seem similarities between Bones and Spike, who was my favourite BTVS character.
Way back in 1982 I read Interview With the Vampire by the gifted Anne Rice. What can I say I was 11.

The first ever vampire movie I saw as a child was a cult flick in the 80s called Bloodstone that was later renamed Subspecies. A trio of ladies vacationing in Europe come across a local man who ends up being the “good vampire”, half-brother to the villainous vampire in the story. Villain Vamp drinks from 2/3 of the girls until they turn, while Good Brother Vamp falls in love with the 3rd.

My gateway of original vamps was Barnabas Collins from the original series as a kid– used to watch with my great grandmother. I saw Dracula as a teen. The more modern drool-worthy vamps were Henry Fitzroy from Blood Ties, Edward Cullen was a fun and intense wanderer, then Bones solidified the height of swoon-worthy and cheeky bad boy with a heart of gold. Love the modern versions way more than the original versions.😉

I didn’t quite grasp the full definition of a vampire as I was young, all I could define was seeing fangs and lots of blood. Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Gary Oldman is amazing. I never thought of Dracula as a romantic character until this version. Bella Ligosi just doesn’t do it for me. Favorite TV Vamp, Damon in Vampire Diaries. True blood is a good book series but the casting on HBO is meh for me.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the movie, then the show, yes I’m old) started it all for me and Interview With a Vampire sealed the deal. Cat and Bones drew me back into it.

My first introduction into vampires was reading the vampire academy series years ago while still in high school. Watching An interview with the vampire really solidified my obsession. Your books helped me through the loneliness of my husband’s deployment and I’m always seeking out new books that immerse me into the vampire world the way yours do.
I’m embarrassed to say but Twilight was the first book/movie I saw on the fanged ones. I dived deep into the word by reading Night Huntresses series, Dark Hunter series and of course Vampire Diaries. Night Huntress series and the world are my top favourite books. Can’t wait to read more books from Bones POV!

For me it was Buffy in the late 90s. I was in my late teens early 20s and fell in love with the paranormal world. It slowly changed my reading tastes as well and the rest is history.
It was totally Twilight for me. It was my first foray into paranormal and I loved the author’s take on vampires – well, I loved that she made them her own! I was never a huge vampire fan before then, but as I have read more and more I find I love authors’ creativity in how their supernatural creatures are formed and exist (and coexist)!

Next I was introduced to the Sookie Stackhouse books. But then I FINALLY was introduced to Cat and Bones and fell head over fang in love. Especially when Vlad glides through with a smoldering (literally) smirk!

I’m old – It was repeats of Dark Shadows on the radio Saturday afternoons when I was a kid. As I got older it was Michael Nouri in The Course Of Dracula TV show.
My gateway book was Twilight. A friend recommended it to me in 7th grade (long before the awful movies were a thing) and I was head over heels. To this day I read the twilight series once a year.

My gateway into all things supernatural, sci-if and fantasy started with books by Mercedes Lackey, her Valdemar series, and Tamora Pierce, her Lioness Quartet. Reading about magic, fantasy creatures, monsters and epic adventures led to be reading anything I could find about those topics. I found Nyx’s Sabriel books, then Christine Feehan books and then yours! I love supernatural romance and fantasy books.
I grew up watching “scary” movies with my mom so Lost Boy would probably have been my 1st introduction to the fang….but Buffy the Vampire Slayer is truly my gateway into the Vamp world

OMG! I have always loved vampires for as long as I can remember. The Lost Boys, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Salem’s Lot, and so many more vampire movies. As far as books, I hated reading growing up but when I was 30, my cousin convinced me to try Twilight. I did and loved it but I like a little more “adultness” in my stories. Someone recommended Dark Lover by J.R. Ward and I was hooked. It lead me to the Night Huntress series, Lara Adrian’s series, Kresley Cole’s IAD series, Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protector series and so many more!

When I was younger, Buffy the Vampire slayer and Charmed were my go to series! Can’t forget the Buffy movie either! As I got older, Interview with a Vampire was epic, and I was obsessed with Blade and the Underworld series. Essentially, growing up in the 90s into the early 2000s paved the way for Night Huntresses! Oh and Queen of the Damned had the best soundtrack!

Hello! The first book I read about vampires was…. Well, Twilight. Not very original, but I remember being very hooked on the idea; superhuman strength, young forever, the huge disparity between Bella and Edward. After Twilight, I enjoyed watching The Vampire Diaries, and of course I love Hotel Transylvania, even if just for laughs. I was also very interested about the origin of the “vampire” myth, so I read “Dracula”. And I researched and discovered a lot of cool facts about the origin of the whole myth.
Buffy the vampire slayer or charmed were definitely my introductions to vampires.
Buffy and Angel got me hooked and then Vampire Diaries and Twilight movies.

My earliest intro to vampires was Buffy. But honestly I think I fell deeper into the genre only when I started watching shows like Vampire diaries and True blood.

Show/movie was Buffy. Books I did read the Twilight series but didn’t get interested otherwise. Then I read Once Burned and have been hooked ever since. That lead me to The Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands.

I was introduced to vampires with the movie, “The Lost Boys”, but didn’t realize that vampires could be sexy until I fell in love with “Angel”, a TV spin-off from Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. Now the prize for most amazing vamps goes to a 2 way tie between Bones and Vlad!
I know I was very young when my vampire love began. It was either The Lost Boys or the Dracula movie with Gary Oldman… or maybe Interview with a Vampire. As I was around 7 or 8, I know it wasn’t a book. It was one of those movies—which I’m appalled my mom let me watch. 😂
My spiral into vampirism started with Sookie in True Blood. It lead me to others, some good some not so much. I found that I like the vampire books but not so much with werewolves and fairies, it must be about the bite – 😳. All the different series I’ve read Sookie was my favorite until I met Cat and Bones then it was hard to read others. I’ve never read one with such addicting chemistry.
I became obsessed with vampires after watching “The Little Vampire” from 1985 as a small child. I still love this series today. After that came so many books and movies, the love for vampires never ends ❤️🖤

I was really into fantasy books growing up and so supernatural was an easy transition. The Sookie Stackhouse series and Vampire Diaries books did it for me. It’s been very interesting to see how bookstores have tried to categorize the genre over the years. I still prefer physical books so I really miss the older style of book cover art (secret smut). I’m really hoping to win so I can replace NH book 2! I let a friend borrow it and it came back with chew marks from her ferret.

It’s a toss up of the movie The Lost Boys and a show called Forever Night. It was a Canadian produced show (mid 90’s) about a vampire who was a police detective, it would come on during a block of time the TV station (can’t remember the channel) called crime time after prime time.
My intro into vampires was probably watching Interview With A Vampire with my mother when I was a little kid. Either that one or Lost Boys. The Buffy movie around the same time is still one of my favorites of all time. Both absolute classics!

My gateway was when my daughter-in-law introduced me to your “Night Huntress” series about 7 years ago. It was a game changer for me! I couldn’t get enough! I read everything you wrote (FYI although not a vampire series also loved the “Broken Destiny” series, fantastic quest series) and fell in love with the “Night Prince” series. My first memory of a Vampire was on the tv show “The Night Stalker”. This began my fascination with all things vampire. The Dracula movies, Elvira, the Anne Rice novels, and Sookie Stackhouse all followed soon after. The “Night Huntress” series is a current favorite.
For me, I think the gateway was the TV show Forever Knight from the early 90’s. It was a favorite of both me and my best friend growing up – but her parents wouldn’t let her watch it, so I’d record it on this clunky old VHS recorder at my house and we’d watch it in secret whenever she came over to the spend the night. It made for the best memories of friendship, popcorn, a cute vampire, sweet romance, lots of adventure, and questionable humor involving souvlaki. After that, I found Anne Rice, and was hooked for life.
I would say my gateway into the world of vampires and the supernatural was shows like Buffy and Angel. Book-wise, it was definitely alllll you and your Night Huntress series! Which I have re-read more times than I can count lol. Thank you so much for the generous giveaway opportunity! <3

I’ve also enjoyed Brenda K Davies series, Awakening and Alliance. I’ve enjoyed the serial books that create a feeling for closeness, all stating with Cat and Bones. Looking forward to more graphic audios from Bones POV.

My gateway intro to vampires was Barnabus Collins on the original TV show, Dark Shadows.
Mine started with Hannah Howell and Lynsay Sands vampire series. I was reading the Outlander series and didn’t want to stop reading about Scots so I hunted for a combo. 😀
My love affair with vampires began with Buffy. I loved the campy comedy paired with the brooding antihero Spike. Simply yummy! I quickly found the Anita Blake series, Cat’s story, and Lindsay Sands.
My gateway was Dark demon by Christine feehan after that book I picked up every vampire romance I could get my hands on. I will say that Cat and Bones story is my favorite and I re-read it at least once a year.
Mine was Half Way To The Grave. I was working a job that we could have headset/earbuds to listen to music or whatever you wanted. After so long I got tired of listening to music. Got a library card which allowed me to check out audio books from their website. I fell in love with Cat & Bones.
My first vampire book was Mercer Mayer’s Critters of the Night: The Vampire Brides when I was about 9. I’ve enjoyed reading about vampires ever since.
My gateway was Halfway to the Grave followed by obsessively watching Buffy and getting no sleep to do so lol.
My first vampire show was True Blood. I also read a few series before the Night Huntress series however Cat, Bones & the crew are my favorites! (Vlad in my book boo) I’m so excited about the Bones POV. Please keep releasing those. Or maybe do the whole series!? It is so much work. When it comes to books, Halfway to the Grave was one of the first Vampire books that I Loved. When it comes to TV it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Hmm well the very first vampire for myself(and many others) would be the Count from Sesame Street. Still love him ahahahahah.
I don’t actually remember, but I remember loving vampires when I was younger. I’m going to agree with Colleen C about Dark Shadows – I think my mom watched that when I was a kid. 🙂
I loved reading Anne Rice years ago and Interview with the vampire was always one of my top reads along with Dracula. I love the Sookie Stackhouse books and could not get enough of True Blood. Now I love The Huntress series, Anita Blake and many others .

It started with the twilight movie voor me! At the end of the movie it said based on the book. Like a year later I was looking at goodreads voor a bit more adult vampire recs and that’s when I found cat 🥰
If you don’t count flipping channels and catching 5 minutes of Buffy once, as a preteen, Twilight. My mother-in-law was watching it… it was like a trainwreck… I couldn’t look away. then the library was all out of audiobooks to listen to while driving, so I borrowed it (and finished the series for the same reason.) That’s why I spit my drink laughing when Bones tells Timmy not to ask if he sparkles! (side note: the Twilight side characters were way more interesting than Bella and Edward.)
My gateway was the Lost boys with Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patrick from there I went to Buffy and ever looked back. Love your books 💜
My gateway series was the Twilight series.. it was good but I wanted more. Sure enough I stumbled upon Night Huntress, Blackdagger Brotherhood, and Argeneau Vampires! I’ve been addicted for years.
My gateway book was the Vampires Seduction by Raven Hart. After reading that I was looking for all things vampire and came across Halfway To The Grave in Barnes and noble. I become obsessed with the series and the characters. I have read all their book and am anxiously awaiting more!

Then there was an anime called Black Blood Brothers I wanted to watch, so I made a YouTube account saying I was 5 years older than I was because the site wouldn’t let anyone under the age of 18 watch. I’ve had the account for 15 years now…
Coincidentally it was also in that same year that I saw the cover of Mencheres and Kira’s book, squealed in the bookshop while jumping excitedly so my mom bought it for me. That book has been replaced a few times now, I read it so much! I now own all of your books so far!
Dracula starring Bela Lugosi, and that series of old black and white films with Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, etc. My extremely rural upbringing was blessed by an independent tv station, and all they could afford to license was the really old stuff like Leave it to Beaver, etc. I also watched a lot of Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan films too.

Not sure when I started watching vampire themed movies/shows but as for reading, Anita Blake was my first vampire themed book and it has gone from there.
I started reading the Twilight series with my 12 year old daughter in 2006 and have been hooked every since. In 2012 my daughter and I even took a Twilight trip (to celebrate her high school graduation) to Washington and visited all the places set in the books. We had such a great time. Somewhere around 2009 I discovered Cat and Bones, and Jeaniene Frost. I read everything written, and craved for the next addition. I have read all but the last Bones version book. Jeaniene Frost is my absolute favorite author. I am an addict…hahaha
I think my first vampire book was ‘One foot in the grave’. I don’t know how I did it, but I didn’t realize it was only the second book in the series. Nevertheless, I loved it, decided to read the first book and … well today it’s my favorite genre 😉
One day I decided it’d be great ro read the Twilight series, you know, the vampire classic, blah blah… Well, what can I say? I started reading the series I realized 2 things pretty quickly:
1st – I love the vampire genre and the world within it
2nd- I absolutely hate the characters; so I went looking for other vampire books and lo and behold, I’m a huge vampire fan!
At first, I watched the Twilight movies, and well, I hated them. Honestly, I really have no idea how that got me into Vampires, but someway it worked 🙂
Cat’s and Bone’s story instantly catched my attantion when I read the caption. A half-vampire and a vampire killing vampires? Count me in!! With every book I’ve read about the fanged ones, I’ve fallen more in love with them <3
The Night Huntress series was my introduction to the world of vampires. I looked really hard to find an equally good book, but none could keep up 😉
I became vampire obsessed in middle school. The first couple series I read were The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod and The House of Night!
Honestly it was Abbott & Costello, Bela Legosie(sic), Lon Chaney & Boris Karloff! They were scarey to a little kid but Lou’s reactions made it funny & you rooted for him to be ok. The Munsters & the Addams Family were great too! Maybe black & white movies when reality was in color made a difference too?
I started with Halfway to the Grave. Please don’t make me pick a favorite character/book because that is like choosing a favorite chocolate candy. I devoured each book with many sleepless nights. I absolutely love your your wit, humor, and love of your characters. You are my favorite fanged ones writer hands down. Thank you for choosing to write.
