I can’t believe that I forgot to post the playlist for BOTH FEET IN THE GRAVE before it released! Eh, well, better late than never, right? But, before we get to that, I wanted to remind everyone that I will be doing a live Discord video chat this Saturday, April 29th, at 6pm Eastern. The app is free on your phone or laptop. Just click on the link below if you’d like to join, or if you just want to show up for the chat later this month. Thanks to Cassandra for hosting this!
Go HERE to join and/or particulate in the chat.

And now, to the playlist.
As I’ve said before, I listen to songs while I write. I find that it helps to keep me focused on that particular story if I listen to the same playlist while I write it. So, here’s what I listened to while writing BOTH FEET IN THE GRAVE. Lots of the songs are newer, but there’s some throwback ones, too, which makes sense since Bones is over two hundred years old, so he’d consider anything within the past century as “newer,” heh.
Usual disclaimer: Music tastes are as personal as reading tastes, so if you don’t like the bands/songs, no problem! Just please don’t tell me that I shouldn’t like them. The layout is alphabetic starting with the artists’ first name, and then the song name, but I didn’t listen in alphabetical order because I am not that organized. My listening order depended on my mood and the scene type. Also, there’s no particular meaning in the songs in relation to the book unless I mark them with an asterisk *, which, as you’ll see, I did with a couple of them.
AJR: The Good Part
Alesso (feat Katy Perry): When I’m Gone
Arcade Fire: The Lightning
Bon Jovi: This House Is Not For Sale, Rollercoaster
Cage The Elephant: Come A Little Closer
Foo Fighters: Times Like These
Future Islands: Seasons (Waiting on You)
Girl In Red: I’ll Call You Mine
Holly Humberstone: Scarlett
Hunter Plake: With Or Without You
Imagine Dragons: Wrecked*
Jaymes Young: Infinity
Jessie Murph: Always Been You
Kaleo: Way Down We Go
Machine Gun Kelly: Maybe
Manchester Orchestra: Bed Head
Matt Maeson: Cringe, Hallucinogenics, Blood Runs Red
Metric: All Comes Crashing
Mitski: Your Best American Girl
Muse: Starlight
Rufus Du Sol: On My Knees
Selena Gomes (feat Marshmello): Wolves
Taylor Swift (feat Bon Iver): Exile**
The Band Camino: 1 Last Cigarette
The Main, Taking Back Sunday & Charlotte Sands: Loved You A Little
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Breakdown
Tove Low: Habits (Stay High)
*This was the first song I listened to while writing about half the book because the lyrics “Oh, I’m a wreck without you here / Yeah, I’m a wreck since you’ve been gone…I think I was wrecked all along” pretty much describes Bones’s state of mind until he is together with Cat again.
**I listened to Exile exclusively while writing THAT scene with Bones and Annette because its pain and heartbreak bleed through the notes, which fit with how Bones was at his emotional rock bottom in that moment.

You liked way down we go by Kaleo.. Union they are called did cover of the same song. It’s awesome so different. They also did sex and candy by mercy’s playground. Also another song by the unions is called silhouette. I can so see it bring played during the club scene with cat and bones, when cat tried so hard to hide her feeling etc..
