*blows dust off* Is this thing on?
Yes, I know. It’s been a month since I blogged. Believe me, that’s a good thing. The last time I blogged, I made a whiny rhyme about how the first week of the New Year hadn’t gotten off to a great start for me. It’s like Fate picked its head up to say, “You think THAT’S hard? Ha!” I’ll summarize my past four weeks:
Doctor: You’ve started early-clogging your arteries, so you need to change your diet, start exercising, and take these pills.
Me: Dammit.
Doctor: And the nodules on your thyroid have doubled in size, could be cancer, see a specialist.
Me: Dammit!
Sister 1: Dad’s got a tumor on his bladder, it’s probably cancer (he has history of renal cancer), he needs surgery.
Me: DAMMIT!
Sister 2: I have a large tumor on my ovary that might be cancer. Doing tests now.
Me: DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT!!!
Needless to say, there was a flurry of new doctors appointments and tests. Now, I’m beyond relieved to say that:
- Dad came through surgery and the doctors think they’ve got everything, so he won’t need chemo.
- My sister’s cancer test came back negative.
- My thyroid nodules are okay.
- I’m dealing with my new diet fairly well, although cheese, fried food & butter, I miss you!
So, as the subject line says…whew! January, I will forgive you for the surprise emotional stress test because February has given out so much good news.
And since I’ve put you, readers, through two straight posts of nothing but personal blathering, I have a gift for you: The prologue and first chapter of WICKED BITE, book two in the Night Rebel series with Ian and Veritas, will be posted early next week, so stayed tuned for that!
In the meantime, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I’ll be home, chillin’ with my new carrot stick snacks ;).

I so happy that things are look6up for you and your family. Blessed be that you all have access to good medical care.
As for your test I praying for you.
On a happier note I wanted to also say THANK YOU!!!! For all your hard work and the dedication and effort you put into every book. I love reading, re-reading and listening to them (depending on how my library has them available at the time). Authors like yourself provide me with an escapism that I desperately need.
Do you need reviewers for the next books, if so I volunteer! ๐

So great to hear from you!! Have been checking the blog from time to time. Happily re-reading to pass the time… lol. The other night I dreamed I was Vlad’s wife. Maybe an effect of reading + cough syrup.
Glad to hear things are going in the right direction and all the best for health!! I can imagine the loss of cheese as particularly hard.
