And my favorite holiday tradition is watching It’s A Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve with my husband. Even when things are less than ideal, such as the holiday after my Mom died, when I was too depressed to decorate or really celebrate, there’s something comforting about reserving that time for me and hubby.

My favorite ‘holiday’ drink is a Mai Tai. Because Christmas is cold and I’d rather be at the beach! Of course, I also like hot chocolate or a vanilla cappuccino if I’m on the go. My favorite tradition is playing Dirty Santa, for which we only get to use gag gifts. Fun times.
Glühwein is the traditional drink for the season but my favourite tradotion is our cheese fondue.

My favorite holiday tradition is having dinner with my siblings. We get together a weekend or two before Christmas, and just have food and catch up. Its a ton of fun, and involves good food that one of my brothers always makes. This year it was taco’s for dinner, and apple pancakes and french toast the next morning for breakfast.

My favorite holiday tradition is taking my daughters to see Santa at the mall. Not the waiting in line part, or the paying-way-too-much-for-pictures part, but the part where my daughter’s face lights up when she sees him. That’s so worth it. And my favorite holiday drink is the one I drink year round, and that’s wine!
One of our Christmas services at church is called Gift to the King. That night everyone gets a taper candle and lights it, then we make a circle around the inside of the church and turn off the lights and sing. That’s one of my favorite traditions.
I love that we spend Christmas Eve day making treats for Santa (& ourselves).
One of my favorite traditions is binge watching Lord of the Rings trilogy while wrapping xmas gifts. It makes wrapping more enjoyable and by the time it’s over I’m ready to celebrate!

One of my favorite holiday traditions is getting up early and opening gifts at our house (naturally) then my immediate family goes to my mom’s and do the gift thing there too all before noon. Then we get whatever dish we made and everyone drives to my cousin’s home for the big family get together. I love the chaotic happiness every year. (We are home by 5 just in time for kiddies to tire themselves out with all their gifts from everyone)

Our favorite Holiday Tradition – We call it ‘The 7 Nights Before Christmas’ We (as a family) get a gift each night. It is either a DVD or a game. It helps us spend time together and have a little fun at night.
My favorite drink is Promise Land Egg Nog. Unfortunately, we have been unable to find it this year! I get my super sweet Hubby to stop by (almost) every grocery store we go by just to see if someone has it!!

We have two hoilday traditions. The first is every Christmas morning my mom makes a huge breakfast including her homemade biscuits and gravy. The second is we turn on TBS and watch The Christmas Story, and the channel isn’t allowed to be changed until TBS stops the marathon.

My favorite winter drink is my grandmas punch. It’s like koolaid, sprite, pineapple juice, and sherbet. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to pineapple and it’s gotten worse so I can’t drink it anymore. But I still love smelling it!!
We have several holiday traditions I love, the first being the Georgetown Santa train, then Zoo lights, and finally we go to the same restaurant every year for an early New Year’s Eve dinner with all the fam. My 9 year old loves getting to dress up and go to a fancy restaurant. No favorite holiday drink.

I love eggnog BUT I have to cut it with 1% milk to thin it out a tad. Fav tradition – making cookies. It’s the only time I bake & I continue tradition by baking my grandma’s fav cookies. She has rheumatoid arthritis & can’t really do it anymore.

Water heater flood but it didnt stoo our antics.
When my father died abiut 10 years ago we would decorate an ornament him and place it on hia grave the next day to let him know he is not forgotten.

My favorite holiday tradition is Christmas Eve pjs. When I was a kid we used to get to open 1 gift on Christmas Eve. When I became a parent I wanted to continue that tradition but changed it up just a little. My kids get to open 1 gift on Christmas Eve and they get Pjs which they will wear to bed and while opening presents Christmas morning. The first play my daughter (she was 8) and I were in together was It’s a Wonderful Life, and we always try to go see it on the big screen every Christmas Eve. If we can’t get out, we view it at home. Cranberry momosas Christmas morning!

We take turns hosting it (this year we hosted it), and everyone brings a few dishes so we have a nice variety of food without all the work falling on one person. Decorating our church, my office and home right before Thanksgiving. Everyone laughs and say “already!”. Prepping my holiday card all year long to have ready by Halloween and being done with shopping early. Again, I get “already!”

My favorite holiday drink might seem a little boring but it has always been just a cup of hot chocolate covered in mini marshmallows. I’m not talking about just a few sprinkled on top. I mean completely covered where you can’t even see the chocolate until you dip a spoon in your cup. Delicious!
My favorite tradition is one that seems odd to some people, even some in my extended family. My parents started this tradition with my brother and I when we were small. Every year we would have our “normal” presents. Typically they were all things we asked for (mine usually involved books or office supplies, and still do). After that is done there is always one left for both of us; our Gag gift.
Gag gifts are simple, and strange to outsiders 😊. They are always a gift that means something, but it usually some kind of inside joke or something only we would understand. Which just makes it that much better.
One year I got a gummy bears and a jar to put them in so they could sit on my desk. I absolutely love the bear shaped pieces of pure sugar, so it wasn’t weird to me. It just made me laugh and love it even more. Our guest that year however, looked at us like were insane because that is not what they considered a “normal” present. I also got a copy of Lord of the Rings in one complete volume that I had been eyeing for months that year, so it wasn’t just the gummy bears. If you ask me which one I got all warm and fuzzy over more though…it would have to be the gag gift. It would have been the case for me whether it was gummy bears or not.
They have always been my favorite gifts to open and you never know what to expect (computer printer paper can be deceiving when it is all wrapped up), but they always mean something special. The whole tradition makes me appreciate the thing that truly matters during the holidays that much more. My family, craziness and all. ❤️
When I was younger and before I lost my grandma, my favorite tradition was our whole family would gather at my papa and grandma’s house to cook, eat, and open presents the night before Christmas.
My favorite holiday tradition is making at least one geeky ornament for my tree. I usually pick out a favorite game, anime, book, or movie from that year. This year I am changing it up some, and making one based on my husbands favorite card game.
We don’t really have holiday traditions. We do something new every year. So my favorite drink would be eggnog spiked with brandy and a dash of nutmeg.

My favorite holiday tradition will always be the “Simbang Gabi” (Misa De Gallo) which is a mass celebration done days before Christmas here in the Philippines. For me it’s magical and always give me this inner peace that seems to be too hard to get in my stressful reality. ❤

My family makes home made desserts. Russian Tea cookies, melting moments, Mint layered fuge, and cupcakes. We order Chinese food for dinner.
My favorite holiday tradition is when my whole family (6 total) plays monopoly together. It almost always ends with one of my sisters stopping off in frustration along with my dad singing “we are the champions!!” but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

It Has our last name and each family members name. They are from the same ornament kiosk at the mall. I love them all.
Every Christmas Eve, we all go over to hubby’s parents because you MUST watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas and order pizza. The Popzinlaw always roots for the Grinch.
Afterwards we watch Scrooge starring As Albert Finney. Once again Popz roots for Scrooge.
Every year Popz is disappointed because they become good.

No holiday drink but my husband does like the eggnog. We always do the stockings and I always give them a gift card to B&N so they can get books. We are all big readers. Now that they are older I also started giving them lottery tickets. It’s a game to see who gets the most money.
This is a difficult time in our lives. Our kiddos are transitioning out of the house. 2 of our 3 are off to adulthood. It will be interesting to see which of the traditions they want to continue. Our house is quiet and lonely at times. 😞
A “Hot Apple Pie” is my favorite drink. Fill a mug with hot apple cider, and then add the Italian liqueur Tuaca to taste. A dash of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick and then top with a dollop of whipped cream if desired. Yummy!
My favorite holiday tradition is making my famous Christmas cookies with my children and grandchildren. Then of course you have to have the quality control and taste all of the different cookies made. It’s some of the best memories I have with my family.

My favorite holiday tradition is just being with my family. Even though we live in the same state ( most are only a 15 min drive away )we still don’t see each other much, due to everyone has a busy life. But on Christmas we all come together to enjoy the holiday and each others company.
We love the sparkling wines! So anytime we can toast between Christmas and New Years, especially with a sparkling rose, is fun and traditional.
My mom started a Christmas Eve dinner every year since 2011. Our family and mostly friends all showed up. She made everyone feel loved and accepted.
Now that she’s in heaven this year I now carry the tourch. So this year Christmas Eve dinner is at my house.
Christmas Eve we all gather with my grandparents and make Italian sandwiches, drink hot cocoa and let the kids open one present. Then decorate Christmas cookies to bring home and leave out for jolly ol’ St nick.
Every year we have a gingerbread house decorating contest. We buy all kinds of kits and make our own creations out of them. This year my hubby won by building the Nakatomi building from the movie Die Hard with Bruce Willis. (yes, it’s a Christmas movie)

My favorite tradition is going to see Christmas lights. It’s something one of my sister’s started when I was younger and I’ve kept up with it every year.
Our family’s Christmas tradition is having a huge Christmas dinner at one of our houses for the whole family (about 20 of us now lol). Can get a little crowded but it makes playing Scattergories or Apples to Apples super FUN afterward 👍. Especially if alcohol is involved 😂😂😂. My favorite holiday drink is also the southern comfort eggnog unspiked. I tried it with the alcohol but didn’t like it.
My favorite holiday tradition is a relatively new one for me. I go to my boyfriend’s mom’s house and she makes a big pot of chili that we eat all day on Christmas Day. I lost my mom about 10 years ago and this has really been a blessing.
Being that we never had family, We never had family traditions so we started some last year. We get jammies and on Christmas Eve have Mrs. Claus deliver them to their bed so when they wake up they see them sitting there then we make our cookies for Santa and reindeer food (oatmeal and sprinkles). Kids have been having a blast!
Favorite Holiday drink is Peppermint Hot Chocolate with some Baileys. Yummy. Our tradition is seeing how many time we can watch A Christmas Story during the Marathon on TV

We celebrate both my sisters birthday and Christmas, so it’s always been a combo celebration. So the cakes usually say “Merry Birthday” or “Happy Christmas”. I say it wasn’t fair to her, but she says she doesn’t mind. Also, my wife and I go over to her moms house a few days beforehand to help her bake a smorgasbord of cookies, cakes, breads, fudges, etc.

My favorite tradition is the Santa paper. For my first Christmas, my dad bought a dozen rolls of an old-fashioned red plaid wrapping paper with rocking horses on it, and every year for my entire life there has been one present from “Santa” wrapped in that paper for both me and my brother. I’m 33. I have no idea where the paper is kept, or how much is left, but it’s still magical to see it.
Favorite tradition is Christmas Eve at my mom’s baking cookies and watching the grinch stole christmas.
My favorite Christmas tradition is having cinnamon rolls with orange icing for breakfast right before opening presents. Unfortunately I am not getting home until Christmas afternoon so we will be celebrating on the 26th
My favorite holiday tradition is watching A Christmas Story while my kids and I put the tree up and eat Christmas Cookies out of the little round tin.
The holidays, for my family, has a focus on our Italian culture. My grandparents, on both sides, were all born and started off in Italy.
Favorite drink is Sambuca.
Tradition for us is as follows. We start cooking on Christmas Eve. The sauce gets started by sauteing fresh crushed garlic in Extra Virgin olive oil. The meatballs are made from scratch and we sear/brown them, flip them and do the other side. Then they are taken out and put in a bowl. We do the same to sweet Italian sausage links, pepperoni, Braciole, and small beef ribs which are seasoned with salt, pepper, and parsley. After all the meat is browned, and the oil holds all that flavor, we add in some tomato paste and then smooth sauce, no chunks. We season that with salt, pepper, parsley, basil, oregano and, if needed, more crushed garlic. We let that stay on the stove for a couple of hours. Then everything gets put in the fridge until the next morning. The sauce goes on the stove right after breakfast and we add the meat back in so this will cook all day long.
For lunch we would have a traditional antipasto with Prosciutto de Parma, Capicola, Genoa Salami, Sopressata, Coppa di Testa, sliced Provolone, Mozzarella and Asiago cheeses. There would be loaves of fresh Italian bread, artichoke hears, olives, roasted red peppers and pepperoncini. We would then clear the table, wash dishes/dishwasher and then we would bread and fry the eggplant and chicken cutlets and get them in the oven to make Parmesan.
So dinner would then be Chicken and Eggplant Parm and Cavatelli. Plus all the meat from our Ragu sauce, and more bread. There would also be stuffed artichokes and a huge, honking salad with lots of peppers, tomatoes, onions and olives. After which we’d clear the table, and clean-up again.
Then we’d make coffee, tea, hot chocolate and have Italian desserts. Cannoli, Sfogliatelle, Struffoli and also a variety of Eclairs and other cream filled treats.
Throughout the day and after dinner and dessert, we watch a variety of holiday movies and TV shows and typically work on a large jigsaw puzzle.
It’s the one day we’ve all agreed, no disagreements allowed. A pleasant day is had and we remember those who who are no longer with us.

This is third year we are celebrating with extended family, before we lived far away and only 5 of us, we do a secret ornament exchange. There are about 30 and we all get together Christmas Eve eat tamales, a lot of tamales, and have the exchange. Its awesome. I got my cousin a Lego Wolverine figure. 😁
My favorite tradition is a drink. Xmas morning fireball shots with my mom and now 21 yr old daughter! Celebration that we again made it through the holiday!
My favorite holiday tradition was started by my mom, a waitress and single parent of 3 kids, things were always tight. She started letting us each pick one of our favorite meals as part of our present. We’ve continued this through the years and now instead of a traditional Christmas dinner we have a buffet or everyone’s favorite dishes. My favorite holiday drink is an Irish Coffee.
Favorite holiday drink is a tie. There is something comforting about a good glass of eggnog. But when I’m not in the mood for something sweet, I love a steaming mug of Wassel. The warm spices and invigorating orange are delicious.

Favorite holiday tradition easily going threw the trail of lights especially when they are the ones set up for non profit donations. Favorite drink Dirty Nanna’s hot chocolate which is just the Nana’s brand hot chocolate with alcohol we usually do like rumchata or any kinda rum really haha.
Our family tradition is playing pass the gift! I always put something super silly in as the prize, oven mitts are used, and music as a start/stop! Hilarious fun ensues! Hot chocolate is the bomb! Im super picky so its a safe drink for me lol happy holidays everyone!
My favorite holiday tradition is watching White Christmas and Barishnakov’s The Nutcracker while decorating the Christmas tree. We sing along with all of the songs in White Christmas.
My favorite holiday tradition is watching a Christmas movie with my brothers. It doesn’t matter which one but it is usually one of the Home Alone movies (first two only) or the Santa Claus. My brothers and I aren’t really close so we don’t really do things together, less and less now that we are all out of school. But we always watch a movie over the holidays.

My favorite holiday tradition is when my mom and I adopt families that are less fortunate in our area. We get lists of things they need and do a food drive. If the family has children, we make them stockings and get them some toys. It’s one of my favorite times.
My favorite holiday tradition is looking at Christmas lights. We load up the car with Christmas music, everyone in pjs, popcorn, candy and hot cocoa.
On Christmas Adam (the night before Christmas Eve) we all unwrap new pjs, drink hot chocolate and watch our favorite Christmas movies. Elf,Frosty and the Polar Express. No phones or other distractions. It is the only night a year I can get my two teens off their phones.

My favorite holiday tradition is filling a stocking for my grandbabies every year. No matter when we get together. Since it’s usually after Christmas, I had to tell my then very young grandson that I had a deal with Santa to make a special delivery for him at my place whenever we got together to celebrate. Then I had to tell my granddaughter the same thing.

My favorite holiday tradition is that we watch Die Hard (in rememberence of my dad) every Christmas. And my favorite drink this time of year is hot apple cider.
My best memories growing up were of the whole family getting together. It had to be 60 of us all together with all the aunts, uncles and cousins. The kids would stay outside, out of the grown ups hair while the grandma and aunts cooked and baked enough food for an army. Grandpa would read The Night Before Christmas before we could open presents and it was always an honor to be the one grandchild who was chosen to hand out the gifts. I cherish those days now that my grandparents are gone and the family no longer gets together like that anymore.
My favorite drink during the holidays is a spiced tea mix my grandma used to make for me. It’s got tang, lemonade mix, instant tea and a few holiday spices. And watching all the old holiday cartoons.

We always watch the Disney animated short Perp & Landing with a mug of eggnog on Christmas Eve. We follow that with a reading of ‘Twas before we all snuggle into bed.

Our family tradition is to wrap New Year’s presents ourselves and put them under a Christmas Tree with a toy featuring Russian Santa Clause 🙂 You may say, that everyone does it, but for us, it is a special ritual we do every year together making it a point of a holiday to have presents arranged like that. Before we just gave presents to each other but starting from a certain point we began to do it that way.
My favorite holiday tradition is my father reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas to all his grandkids. There are 16 plus 22 great grandkids. He does the best job.
I’m a hardcore introvert and my favorite holiday tradition is usually a solitary one. Each year, I watch Amends, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Christmas episode, as well as A Very Supernatural Christmas. Sometimes, it’s the little things that grow to have meaning over time. It’s been a decade+ for both of these episodes now and something tells me that I’ll still be watching them when I’m old and gray. My fave tradition is one from when I was a kid but we haven’t done since my brother had kids (though if he moves out of state like he may do for a new job, we will probably pick it back up) was going as a family to see a movie after opening presents. I don’t have a big family so once we’ve eaten and opened presents, this gave us something to do as theaters are the only thing open.
My favorite holiday tradition is letting my children open one present from me and their dad on Christmas Eve. It’s usually pajamas, or a book. My mom and dad started this tradition with me and my siblings and I love passing it on and doing it with my children. My dad is bedridden now from COPD and my mom is always busy taking care of him so it’s nice to have a Christmas tradition that reminds me of my childhood when we use to do the same.
