I’m sorry to write that I am out of town again because my father is back in intensive care. That’s the bad news, but I’m beyond glad that he’s still with us because he went into arrest late Sunday night and nearly died. Right now, he is in critical but stable condition, and we are hoping and praying that he continues to improve.
So, once again, please excuse the delay on replies to emails/comments/social media messages, etc. Also, please excuse the rather grim tone of my posts this past 30+ days. I haven’t meant to only talk about stressful, personal things, but it’s been a very trying time, as I’m sure you can imagine, and I wanted to explain the reason behind my recent silences. Thank you.

Take all the time you need with your dad. Anyone who doesn’t understand is someone you don’t need in your life. Cat, Bones, Vlad and the rest will be there waiting for you whenever you feel up to it again after your dad (hopefully) recovers.

Oh honey I am so sorry. I am going to tell you my story and hope you will feel more hopeful. It started in January of this year my mother had a heart attack and she is 78 years old. She recovered and had a relapse and required four stints. We got through that thank the lord. Then my daughter got pregnant with twins and delivered them five weeks early in May of this year. She had a very dangerous week for her and the twins and we so worried we were going to loose her or one of the babies during her delivery. Finally all was well and we were able to bring the twins home on Friday of this month. That next day my husband who is only 46 years old suffered a heart attack. I was so shocked and scared because we don’t think about ourselves being sick or having a heart attack. While we were at the hospital listening to his results from his doctor (we are 1 1/2 hours away from home by the way). We get a phone call from my alarm company telling me my house fire alarm had went off at my home. My daughter and twins were home alone and I was unable to get ahold of her for nearly 30minutes. I really thought I was going to be joining my husband in the hospital with my own heart attack. Finally we were able to get her on the phone and she had put out a grease fire with our fire extinguisher. The point is the hits keep coming but I am so glad things have worked out for our family. I know that you have had a very hard time lately and you have all the love and prayers of this fan for you and your family.

The upside to being such a phenomenal author, though, is that you have thousands of fans/friends who can be your prayer warriors and hopefully help get ya’ll through this! Remember, we love you and don’t feel bad about having posts that are less than happy. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say that one of the things we love best about you is that you are real and so open! <3 xoxo <3
