February is already off to a busy start. In addition to writing Up from the Grave (Cat and Bones #7) and getting things ready for the upcoming release of Twice Tempted, this is also apparently Visitation Month at the Frost house. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law were here this past week and just left this morning. Then on Saturday, my niece and her boyfriend are visiting for a week. Right after they leave, four of my husband’s friends are staying with us for another week. I’m sure everyone has missed us and it has nothing to do with it being ski season in the mountains *wink*.
Speaking of Twice Tempted, I’m having a book trailer made for the release. People ask me if book trailers have an impact on sales and my answer is an eloquent “I dunno.” I do them mostly for existing readers because I think trailers are a neat way to provide another description of the story aside from the back cover copy (and I get a kick out of seeing what Book Candy Studios comes up with). If they happen to snare any new readers into trying the book, that’s icing on the cake. Look for the Twice Tempted trailer to release at the end of this month.
Before then, if you live in the US or Canada, you can get a sneak peek at the first two chapters of Twice Tempted (plus excerpts of other books) in the FREE ebook It Happened One Valentine’s Day , which releases on February 12th. If you live in the US or Canada but you don’t have an ebook reader, you can still read it on your laptop, phone, desktop, tablet, etc. Instructions are here. If you live outside of the US and Canada, as usual, the first 20% of Twice Tempted (plus all of the other novels in It Happened One Valentine’s Day) will be available to read for free on HarperCollins website two weeks before release. I’ll be sure to post the link once it’s available.
And in the next week or so, also per usual, I’ll post the list of songs I listened to while writing Twice Tempted. In case you haven’t heard me talk about this before, with each book, I compile a song playlist that I listen to until the book is done. Then I listen to that same playlist again during revisions and copyedits. Basically I’m treating myself like Pavlov’s dogs – when I hear a certain set of sounds, i.e., a book playlist, I’ve conditioned myself to a certain response. In this case, the response is to write/revise that particular book. This process isn’t a one-size-fits-all recommendation for writing (nothing is except to write) but it works for me so I stick with it. This is also why you’ll see me call out periodically for music recommendations. You have no idea how many of you have helped me write with your song suggestions, so thank you again!
Finally, I promised you a contest head’s up, right? Here it is: In the next two weeks, I’ll have an Arc giveaway of Twice Tempted on my Twitter page, my Facebook page and my website blog ( https://jeanienefrost.com/blog/ , if you’re reading this from LiveJournal or Goodreads) so be sure to check back on all three places if you’re interested in winning an early copy. Not on FB or Twitter? That’s what the website blog contest is for since all you need is email to enter.
That’s it for now. I have to clean up for the next set of guests plus get some work done. Hope you’re having a nice February so far!

Vlad’s OK but I can’t wait to get back to Cat & Bones!! And like Amanda I’d like to know if you have a closer than “winter” date for the publication of Up From the Grave.
susiesydney2012 says

Catherine says

Sarah says

Sylwia says
It’s so wrong to fall in love with books from American’s Autors… I’m just from poland and feel so hopeless… I’m so impatient about Twice Tempted and I can’t even read two chapters before Valentine’s day 🙁 I will have to comfort myself by red dress with cut heart on decollete…
Besides all my drama Jeaniene YOU simply rock!
Jessica Mickle says
I love Bones, and Vlad. They are the best. I can’t wait for Twice Tempted.
Minnie Medina says
I LOOOOVED Vlad since his first appearance in C&B books. I can’t wait to see what comes next for him and Leila.
Christina says
I can’t wait for Twice Tempted to come out!! I do miss me some Cat and Bones though! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read all of your books!!! They’re amazing!:)
Wendy says
Oooo, ooooo! I do have Twice Tempted on pre-order but I do like ARC’s–they just feel special. 🙂
I will do the same thing while writing–it drives my significant other insane, so I’m forced to use my iPod. He doesn’t see the charm in listening to the same songs over and over and over… I hadn’t really thought about that with the editing, though–that’s a fantastic idea. Thanks!
BTW, I loved your support of Jim C. Hines when one of your books was picked for one of his poses. I think it shows the high degree of your awesomeness as an author. 🙂

Ouch.
The Night Huntress section of this website indicates that Book 7 will be released in Winter 2013. I’ve come to understand the book is actually going to be released late fall 2013 or early winter 2014.
I will wait because I love the series, but I’m disappointed to find it’s a lot further off than anticipated. Maybe you could clarify the information in the Night Huntress section to avoid further confusion. 🙂
Jeaniene says
When my publisher told me “winter 2013″ what they meant was the very end of this year – 2013. So that’s what I repeated. If there’s been confusion then I’m terribly sorry. I’ve blogged about how I’m not even finished writing the book yet so it couldn’t come up *this* winter, but not everyone reads my blog, of course.
I’ll update the page to reflect “end of 2013″ for the release of Up from the Grave.
jade says
greetings from the UK, do you have any plans on coming to my rainy country?

Love your books!Waiting for Vlad to come home and complete my collection. I’m not a big reader but my friend insisted so much with them and in the end i started to read and fell in love.We are romanian and we are wonderful pleased to see how you created Vlad Tepes.I also would love to see more of Mencheres and Kira books. And Ian to have a book too, he is a very interesting chara and i would love to read his story.Thank you for creating such beautiful books.
Juliana says
I can barely wait for the next installment. I’ve been keeping on tab all your books. Actually, i got a bit annoyed with the ending of the Burned. How come he just walked away from Leila after he beds her. I think he has a deep feeling to her. Then, after a passionate night, he becomes cold and so distant. I wonder what will happen in next book
Emily says
Sigh, it’s not fair being Australian when awesome things are only available in America. Oh well. Can’t wait to read Twice Tempted and the next Cat and Bones book =)
Tanya says
Not sure why, but I’ve searched iBooks, Kobo, Amazon, Google Books etc and “It Happened One Valentine’s Day” is still unavailable in Canada? I absolutely adore Vlad, have since you brought him onto the scene.
Eva says
Love your books! Every single one!
I just read the beginning of “Twice Tempted” in the Valentine’s Day Anthology. It was great but only one chapter, not the promised two 🙁
Now it’s even harder to wait for the rest of the book.
Just admit it, you did that on purpose 😉
I hope you’ll keep writing your fabulose books for a long time.
Greetz from Germany

I’m in LOVE with your characters and your books! I can’t wait for Twice Tempted! I downloaded the V-day book and can’t wait to crack it open with some wine and a comfy couch.
Natalia says
I’ve read a bunch of paranormal romance novels penned by various authors but your books really stand out in quality in terms of language and story detail which is why I enjoy them so much. Having a choice of so much couples to root for is exhilarating but I have to say that Vlad and Leila are my favourite since Cat and Bones from “Halfway to the Grave”. The tension between them and uncertainty of their relationship is the perk – keep it up until the last page! – although cliff hangers are annoying they’re what makes the book (or TV show) more exciting.
Christina Thompson says
I have started reading your books in Dec. 2012. I’m on the last book of Cat & Bones and they r my favorite. It’s so hard to put the books down 😉 Can’t wait for book #7 to come out.. Until then I have more of your books to read and enjoy. LOVE LOVE
Meredith says
So glad to hear about the contest and the posting of the Twice Tempted playlist! Although I wanted to ask, are we getting any more teasers before Twice Tempted releases on March 26th?
