Diet gripes, freebies, and ComiCon

For once, I’m happy that the past few weeks have gone by fairly quickly. Why? Selfish reasons, of course. I’ve been on a very low calorie diet since the later part of August and this Friday, I finally get to switch to regular Atkins – which seems like a foodie vacation after the past few weeks of no fat, no dairy, and 500 calories or less a day (the HCG diet, if anyone’s wondering). Not saying I recommend it because it’s been hard, hard, hard, but I have lost a good ten pounds and that was my goal. Now I’ll switch to a more sane regulated, slower weight loss plan for the last eight or nine pounds. The reason why I went on such a drastic diet was because I’d packed on some weight in the past year plus and I wasn’t happy with how it affected my energy level (not to mention needing to buy bigger pants, heh). So now, I can dust off some slacks that have been hanging in my closet for the better part of a year and put them on again without forgoing simple things like, ah, breathing ;-). That will be nice.

In other more interesting news, I have a partial schedule for ComiCon in October. I say “partial” because my publisher is still trying to work in a signing somewhere on Friday or Saturday. More details about that once I have them, but here are the panels that I’ll be on: 

Friday, October 8

2 – 3pm Panel: FIGHTING LIKE CATS AND DOGS. In the furball battle for supremacy, what shapeshifter is going to claw, bite, gnaw and scratch its way to the top of the pack?  In recent novels by novelists such as Pamela Palmer and Juliana Stone, paranormal romance fans have gone absolutely feral over the emergence of cat shapeshifters…they purr, what’s sexier than a werepuma or wereleopard?  Loping through the howling legions of the other side of the debate comes authors such as Jocelynn Drake, Marjorie M. Liu, and Margaret Ronald – who might argue that woman’s best friend is going to hound all the competition until they emerge triumphant.    The argument may get catty; and the debate over which breed of shapeshifter is sexier are going to be doggone good – so come and join the melee! Moderated by Jeaniene Frost.

Because of its adult nature, I hadn’t put it on my fan site along with the other deleted scenes because I didn’t want someone underage stumbling across it while Googling “vampires” or something, not realizing the explicit content until too late. So to avoid that scenario, access to the scene is restricted to Frost Fan members who’ve specifically requested access to the forum where it’s located.
