Yesterday, I was at the WaldenBooks store in Charleston, SC. The store is located in a mall called the Shoppes at Charleston Place. It was such a neat area, with horse and buggy tour rides going up and down the streets, tons of shops, and enough pamphlets for ghost tours of reportedly haunted locales that it was all I could do not to take a late one after the signing. But, I knew I had an early train to catch, so I was a Good Little Author and went back to my hotel room instead of prowling the Charleston streets in an evening tour group.
When I arrived at the book store, the employees were so friendly, and they had set up a beautiful display of my books in their store window. Can I confess that it still feels surreal to see my books in a store window, after all the years of hoping I’d get published one day, but not *really* thinking it would happen? It was great to chat with the readers who stopped by – and the woman who brought her dog, not knowing that I am unable to keep from petting any animal in my immediate vicinity – but probably the best part of last night was being surprised by an online friend that lived so far away, I didn’t think he was coming. Thanks so much for making the four-hour drive, Vampy! It was awesome to chat with you and you are even funnier in person than you are online.
I also received some wonderful news about Eternal Kiss of Darkness. It debuted at number 2 on Borders Romance bestseller list and number 7 on Barnes and Noble’s overall mass market list. What a nice thing to wake up to today! Another nice thing about today is that it’s the release of Death’s Excellent Vacation, an anthology edited by Charlaine Harris and Toni L. P. Kelner. My story in it is One For the Money, where Cat and Bones find their vacation interrupted when they have to protect a spoiled heiress with a price on her head and an undead hitman on her trail. Hope you enjoy it!
And back by popular demand are the downloadable wallpapers of my book covers and stepbacks. Go here to browse through and pick which ones you’d like to keep for yourself: https://jeanienefrost.com/wallpapers/
Next stop on my tour schedule is Borders store on 404-101 East Six Forks Road, on Wednesday the 4th at 7pm in Raleigh, NC. If you’re in the area, please come out and say hello! It’s always so much fun to meet everyone :).

It was so wonderful to get to meet you in Charleston! I would have loved to stay and talk more but we were having a baby emergency. My friends that you signed the other books for loved them very much. I hope you are able to make it to DragonCon next year. I’ve heard it is so much fun. Please come back to SC again soon.

I love all your books. I just can’t put them down and the only bad thing is that I seem to finish them too quickly, then am saddened that the delight has ended. I read them over and over and they still thrill me each time. The characters are just amazing! And you do such a wonderful job taking your readers on a journey that I simply get lost in the pleasure. Thanks so much for sharing these stories with us. Please, keep them coming. I mark all the releases on my calendar with reminders as I count down the days.
