It’s been a fun fan site tradition for readers who’ve won an early copy of one of my books to post random quotes from it leading up to its release. This time around, of course, it’s been quotes from ETERNAL KISS OF DARKNESS. The object behind the quotes is to offer little glimpses into the book, as well as guess which character said what, and why. We’re almost done with the quotes, as the book releases Tuesday. Because I’ve had such a good time seeing which ones people picked – and they chose a few risqué ones, lol – I thought I’d repost the quotes here. If you see things cut off with an ellipsis (…) that’s to avoid spoilers:

ETERNAL KISS also recently got a good review from Smexy Books. I laughed when I saw that one of the above quotes was referenced in Mandi’s recap of the book.
As regular blog readers know, I’ve found a way around not being allowed to show the cover or stepback from THIS SIDE OF THE GRAVE yet. I’ve been posting snippets that some readers *cough, wink, cough* may have pasted together to get a glimpse at what it looks like. For those of you who’ve sent me emails saying “February is too long to wait for more Cat and Bones!” well, you don’t have to wait that long. The entire first chapter of THIS SIDE OF THE GRAVE is at the end of ETERNAL KISS OF DARKNESS. And, in addition to that, Cat and Bones are in a short story titled One For the Money in the DEATH’S EXCELLENT VACATION anthology, releasing August 3rd. The one and only Charlaine Harris has a new Sookie story in this anthology, and other participating authors in the lineup are also stellar.
Finally, a reminder that I’ll be at the RWA convention next week followed by a train tour for the release of ETERNAL KISS OF DARKNESS (Didn’t hear about that? how do you pronounce Mencheres’es name? is it just how it looks man cher es? so is this new story that will be at the end of Manchere’s story what happens after Cat found out about her past and things she couldn’t remember?
I pronounce it Men-chair-as, but you can vary it up if you like :). Yes, Eternal Kiss of Darkness is the only full length novel I’m planning to do with him and Kira at this time. Cat and Bones’s story picks up in This Side of the Grave, out Feb 22. You can also see them as side characters in Eternal Kiss of Darkness, plus the first chapter of This Side of the Grave is at the end of that book.

I like to pronounce Mencheres name “Man-cherries” just to give myself the giggles XD

Apparently the bookstore in my hometown puts all new releases out on Thursdays so I go EKOD on Friday and I just finished it…it is so fantastic! I love Mencheres and Kira and Bones and Cat are still just as fabulous in the sneak peek of TSOTG…I am a huge fan!! Thank you Jeaniene..I am so ready for Bones and Cat 5 and the short story coming up next month!

I haven’t commented on here before, but I have read all of the Night Huntress books and absolutely love them. It was so exciting to know Mencheres would get his own book. This morning, as soon as the time passed midnight, I discovered I could immediately purchase and download ETERNAL KISS OF DARKNESS from Ibooks. He, he, I had already downloaded the free sample preview.
It was an amazing book and couldn’t put it down despite the late hour. I ended up staying awake all night and finished it around 11 am. After that, I finally went to bed.
Jeaniene, you did a wonderful job. The book definitely lived up to my expectations. If only I didn’t have to wait so long to find out what is up with Cat for the next Night Huntress book!
Susan, You should totally read the deleted scenes and extras on the fan website..they are fantastic and really add to the stories!

You might read comments from Amazon and this book is excellent ! But becasue of the sudden ending ….. we would love to have an epilogue for this book! Hhahah!

ive been wondering about this for ages. Has Cat and Bones done the wedding(the human one) they were planning in AGE? ive just been wondering about it coz they are allways calling each other husband and wife but they only married in the vampire bonding thingo.
I always say this about your books, but this one is my favorite.
