Once Burned cover!
At last, I’ve been given permission to reveal the cover for Once Burned, Night Prince book one. Without further ado, here it is! And in case you didn’t see the other posts, here’s the description, too.
ETA: The cover model is Paul Marron. In the comment section before, I incorrectly gave a different name.

I’ll note that in the first image, the model’s beard length and chest hair (keep looking, ladies, eventually your gazes will reach upward 
) is exactly how I picture Vlad’s to be. I know when I wrote “beard” in the books, some of you pictured this: 
That’s not what I was going for, heh. So if you have trouble imagining the “eight o’clock shadow” that Vlad has, feel free to refer back to the pics of young Michael and the unknown male model wearing only a rope (Hardship, I know!). As mentioned in prior books, Vlad also has scars on his hands. In Once Burned, you’ll find out that his chest and arms have scars, too. Because of this, I begged for scars on the cover, and the art department was good enough to add some. In actuality, he would have more than this.
Now, moving onto Leila. Is the cover model how I picture her? Close. Leila does has long, straight black hair and a slender, athletic build. She also has a scar that runs from her temple down to her right hand. It isn’t present on the stepback, though, and I couldn’t find a picture online that gave a good example of what it looks like so you’ll have to use your imagination. Since I included my own pics for Vlad, here are some for Leila. In my head, I see her as a blend of actresses Megan Fox and Katie McGrath:
As always, readers may picture characters differently than I do, so if you’ve had other images in your mind when you think of Vlad and Leila, go with those 
. One of the best things about reading is how personal it is. As a reminder, Once Burned releases on June 26th. Look for me to post the book trailer and sample chapters at the end of May.

I really like the stepback, and how the colors all blen together. Orange/blue go well together, and yay for the scars. However, I’m not a fan of shirtless men cover, so this one doesn’t work as well as the others did, but I still like it! Love love love the stepback!

Ehhh. I think the cover looks too much like an older cheap romance cover. I’m not excited about the cover. I DO however love the stepback. Very cool.

I prefer to read because I can envision my own characters, but I also love to know what the author envisioned while writing. Since the real Vlad Dracula was not an attractive man by our standards I see a little of who the historical figure was just a bit more handsome whenever I read any book about him.

This is my most anticipated book of the year. Oh how I loves me some Vlad. The cover model isn’t exactly how I picture him but it’s still a great cover. Can’t wait to read it. I think I’m declaring June 26th Vlad Day and playing hookie from work.
I’m so glad they included some scars… and not simply because now I can think about how someone should kiss them. …really. He may not look exactly like we envision Vlad, but no complaining here.

Great cover!! I did picture him like the model or like Michael in 300. As for the beard, like you I saw it trimmed. Like on the outside he looks civilized but on the inside he’s wild like a force of nature. Which fire is, so it would make sense that he would have power over it. And if I had to pick a favorite of your male characters…I have to admit Vlad holds a special place in my heart. I think it’s because of what he survived when he was mortal. The loss of his beloved wife. I am so glad he is going to find love again! Can’t wait for June!!
I love him, he’s gorgeous, I had my OMG moment and got all flush and my Beloved laughed at me (again). I then went hunting down when I would get to read about the hottest vampire in the entire series and…my heart almost stopped. JUNE! I won’t live that long, Ms. Fronst. I’m old enough to have 9 grandkids and I am trying to cram an entire second adolescence into these later years. You gotta put this out sooner than June. I have to drool on this picture until then. My Beloved is going to get to kid me mercilessly until then.

I knew I recognized that face. I’ve seen him on other covers as well but can’t remember which ones.
I actually prefer no heads. Or like the Bones covers, a profile. It adds to the mystery I think.

The Lord of the Ring’s guy, Viggo, was who I was trying to make fit as Vlad, but Michael Fassbender is perfect! The blend of Megan Fox and Katie McGrath makes Leila more beautiful than I had imagined.
I can’t wait for Once Burned and learning the stories behind their scars.
